The Department of Culture, Arts & Leisure (DCAL) has kindly funded a BSL Linguistics and Sociolinguistics course which will run for a total of 6 weekends. After a long period of planning and organising, the first weekend finally started in March.

The British Deaf Association is pleased to announce that it will deliver the first ever BSL linguistics and sociolinguistics training course for Deaf BSL/ISL teachers in Northern Ireland. Thanks to funding from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL), this will run from January 2010 to December 2011.

There is some great news for the Northern Ireland Deaf community. We have a new organisation for our Deaf arts and theatre group. Our organisation is called 'LIMEPIE'.

BDA Northern Ireland to launch report of project aimed to further define BSL and ISL users' experiences of using specific public services across Northern Ireland and identify solutions which can then be implemented by local public service providers.
