This cultural development project promotes British and Irish Sign Languages throughout Northern Ireland. With the creation of BDA’s own curriculum and teaching resources, the Deaf Association of Northern Ireland has brought Sign Language classes to the general public and organisations.

This project also works towards raising the profile of Sign Language and highlighting how important its widespread use is. Another important area of this work is to develop training for local BSL/ISL teachers and assessors using the BDA’s BSL Academy curriculum and the Institute of BSL’s assessments.
