Following many months of discussion, at their meeting in the Scottish Parliament in December 2009, the Cross Party Group on Deafness approved a consultation paper on MSP Cathie Craigie's proposed BSL Bill which has now been launched.

The Scottish Youth Parliament are looking for candidates to represent young Deaf people from all over Scotland.

The Tartan Celebration event held in Glasgow on 5th June was a huge success and attended by over 80 people. Terry Riley, BDA Chair, was our Guest Speaker at the AGM and gave a talk about the future of BDA /ADA.

In collaboration with the BDA and the RNID, the Scottish Association of Sign Language Interpreters (SASLI) has developed a new pd4me website, which launched this month on 1st April.

"Touching Lives - across the generations" is an exciting new project launched by Deafblind Scotland. The project will take place over the next three years and will have a great impact on the lives of deafblind people across Scotland, particularly for those who are over 50 years of age.
