The BDA is immensely proud of Danny Murphy (pictured) who was nominated by the BDA and has now been accepted for the Diana Award Roll of Honour 2017
Princess Diana was special and very supportive of the BDA and the deaf community and made many visits to deaf schools, BDA offices, Durham University and also the famous Brighton 100 years celebration where she signed in public.
So for me and the BDA, this is a recognition of the achievements Danny has made in such a short time and he is an inspiration to all deaf children in mainstream school, “ With Sign Language You CAN”
Although he did not win the top award, the Diana Legacy Award, the fact that he is one of the few to get onto the Roll of Honour is in itself a great achievement, and all credit to Danny and his Parents.
Well done from The BDA
