About pancreatic cancer

Pancreatic cancer is cancer found in the pancreas, an organ in the upper part of the abdomen that helps with digestion and blood sugar control.

Signs and symptoms

Pancreatic cancer may have no symptoms at first, and symptoms can be difficult to recognise. They can include yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes (jaundice), unexplained weight loss, loss of appetite, tiredness, digestive problems, and pain in the upper tummy or back.

Getting help and treatment

Speak to a GP if you have symptoms that are new, persistent or worrying. Treatment depends on the type and stage of cancer and may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and supportive care.
