Text transcript of BSL video:

Toni: Hello!  I’m Toni from BDA Scotland and I’m here with these two guys.  Let’s find out who they are!

Will: Hi!  I’m Will, I’m Deaf and a professional photographer.

Scott:  Hello.  I’m Scott and a Deaf professional photographer too.

Toni: We’ve got an event lined up for Friday 4th August 2017 from 12-5pm for Deaf 16-20 year olds who are interested in photography and learning new skills.  Will is going to explain what will happen on the day.

Will: It’s going to take place in Glasgow because Glasgow has everything we could possibly want – people, material, (textures), buildings, bridges, and more!  It’s gonna be great!

Scott: We’ll be walking around, taking breaks along the way. One hour before the end of the day, around 4pm, we’ll head to St Vincent’s Centre for the Deaf.  You’ll be able to talk about and share your photos.  We’ll load them onto the computer and view them on a large screen.  We’ll chat about them – just informally – and Will and I will give tips for what you can do to improve your photography.  I hope you’re come along!

Toni: What do the young people need to bring to take photos?  A camera?  Their mobile ‘phone?

Scott: Bring a camera.  A proper camera.  Using a mobile ‘phone like an iPhone or Samsung will not be allowed.  You need to bring a camera – a compact camera or SLR or other camera, but not a mobile ‘phone.

Will: The reason mobile ‘phones are not allowed is because you just take snapshots and learn nothing.  Using a proper camera allows you to learn more about photography.  That’s the reason!

Toni: If you’re interested in joining our event, please let me know.  All the contact details and information about the event are on the Facebook page and BDA website.  Do get in touch!  Hope to see you there!

Will & Scott:  Cheers!  Bye!
