About multiple sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. It can cause a wide range of symptoms and affects each person differently.

Signs and symptoms

Symptoms can include fatigue, problems with vision, numbness or tingling, muscle weakness or stiffness, balance and coordination problems, bladder difficulties and changes in memory or concentration.

Getting help and treatment

MS is diagnosed by a specialist after assessing symptoms and carrying out appropriate tests. There is currently no cure, but treatments can help manage symptoms and, for some types of MS, reduce relapses or slow the course of the condition.
