Want to support Deaf young people?
The British Deaf Association is seeking to recruit three enthusiastic and highly organised individuals for our ‘Deaf Roots & Pride’ project.
We are looking for three project Mentors – one will be based in North-East England (Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough), one in the Midlands (Derby, Birmingham and Leicester) and one in Devon/Cornwall.
Project Mentor – £24,000 (pro-rata)
Part-time (17.5 hrs/week)
The Project Mentor will be responsible for working with the Deaf Roots and Pride team to set up and develop the Mentoring service. This will include research and delivery of training and recruitment and support of mentors. They will work alongside our mentors, Deaf children and young people involved in the project.
Successful candidates will have an excellent working knowledge of the Deaf Community and culture.
We are also looking for a Project Befriender (based in Cumbria) – focusing on older people – 1 day a week (7 hours a week) at
Project Befriender – £24,000 (pro-rata).
Part-time (1 day a week – 7 hours a week)
