The BDA is working with campaigning organisation 38 Degrees on a new petition calling for free British Sign Language classes for the families of newly identified deaf children across the UK.

The BDA is working with campaigning organisation 38 Degrees on a new petition calling for free British Sign Language classes for the families of newly identified deaf children across the UK.

The campaign addresses the inconsistent and often costly provision of BSL tuition for families, and the need for early access to language to prevent language deprivation.

Working with 38 Degrees gives us an opportunity to bring this issue to a wider audience and build public support for change.

We are asking BDA members to support the campaign by signing the petition and sharing it with friends, family and colleagues. Your support in these first few days will help build momentum.
