Ashley Kendall works in the media both behind the camera as a TV researcher and in front of the camera as a presenter. He is currently a BDA trustee and Chair of BDAYouth alongside five committee members. In this role, is working to reconnect with young Deaf people across the UK and improve BDA’s relationship with the Deaf youth community.
Ashley was selected as one of the talented 18 newcomers in 2014’s BAFTA Breakthrough Brits, an annual event that celebrates and supports UK’s emerging talent in film, television and games. He has also appeared on the Community Channel’s Punk Chef and Let’s Go Wild, CBBC’s My Life: Signing Off and the BBC’s See Hear. He was also a presenter on CBeebies’ Magic Hands.
Ashely was born and raised in a Deaf family and, from a young age, has always been confident about signing in public and is comfortable being in front of the camera. He is keen to help Deaf children increase their confidence and feeling of identity when signing and for everyone across the UK to recognise BSL and its rich history.
