The British Deaf Association’s 2018 Staff Presentation and Annual General Meeting was held in Manchester on Saturday 14th April. Together we paid tribute to our resolute members of the community and took a look back at the BDA’s progress over the past year.
Tribute to Dorothy “Dot” Miles
As we remember this remarkable and warm lady where her talents seemed endless – Dot Miles was widely regarded as the pioneer of BSL poetry, she was not only a poet, she was a playwright, performer, scholar, teacher and passionate activist.

BDA New Chair Announcement
The BDA BOT have accepted the nomination panels decision that Agnes Dyab has met the relevant criteria for the Chair. As a result of this, there will be no Chair election and AGNES DYAB is duly elected as the new incoming Chair 2018-2021
