Welcome to the BDA Leicester update.
We are very pleased to inform you that we have got some funding from NHS Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) they are responsible for funding health services in Leicester. The funding is to set up a short project to create some video clips of information delivered through BSL for Deaf people.
We will be working very closely with Leicester Deaf Forum to create and show the good and bad practice through role play in regards to access to health services. This will help us with our work to improve and encourage Deaf people to have more knowledge about their rights on accessing services.
The BDA are delighted to receive this funding so that we can continue to support the Deaf community and working closely with Leicester Deaf Forum and NHS Leicester City CCG to look at and deal with Health Inequalities for the Deaf Community within Leicester.
