Want to support Deaf young people in Wales?
Project Mentor – £24,000 (pro-rata)
Part-time (17.5 hrs/week – three year contract)
The British Deaf Association Cymru is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly organised individual for our ‘Deaf Roots & Pride’ project.
The Project Mentor will be responsible for working with the Deaf Roots and Pride team to assist with the development and implementation of the Mentoring programme. This will include research, set-up and deliver training, recruit and support mentors with due regard to safeguarding. They will work alongside our mentors, Deaf children and young people involved in the project.
Successful candidates will have an excellent working knowledge of the Deaf Community and culture. Candidates should have experience of managing projects, budgets and reporting back to funding bodies as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to use their initiative.
The post will be based in Cardiff and will cover the whole of Wales.
This project will be part of the Community Development team that covers the UK, the Director is Damian Barry and the Senior Community Development Manager is Paul Redfern who will oversee the projects.
