Come along to BDA Northern Ireland's Mental Health Workshop for men.
The workshop has been set up as part of World Suicide Prevention Day, which is observed every September. Every year, suicide is among the top 20 leading causes of death globally for people of all ages. It is responsible for over 800,000 deaths, which equates to one suicide every 40 seconds. For men, societal expectations about how men “should” behave and what masculinity is means men feel unable to speak openly about emotions or recognise symptoms of mental health problems in themselves.
It is important for you to talk to someone about your own feelings and we hope this workshop is a good step.
The workshop will take place on Thursday 12th September at 7pm-9pm (refreshments provided from 6.30pm). It will be held in the Damask Room, Weavers Court, Linfield Road, Belfast.
Book your place before 6th September by contacting Alice Johnston at alice.johnston@bda.org.uk or 07814 387 093 (SMS/FaceTime)
