We are aware of allegations published on social media over the weekend.
We understand the concern and anger the allegations against the BDA member have caused within our community, and we are treating the matter with the utmost seriousness. We will support any relevant authorities should they become involved and we advise that anyone with concerns report them immediately to the Police.
Regarding allegations against the BDA employee, we have a duty of care to our employees. In line with our safeguarding policies and protocols, we are conducting an internal review and again will support any relevant authorities as required.
The BDA is committed to being a safe and inclusive organisation for everyone, and we encourage anyone in the Deaf community affected by these allegations to contact us directly via safeguarding@bda.org.uk (from 10am Friday 25th July 2025) and we will support them in any we can.
