The Sign Language Bill is currently progressing through the Northern Ireland Assembly and is at the Committee Stage, where it is being scrutinised by the Committee for Communities.
This stage is referred to as the "Call for Evidence", and the consultation period closed on 9th May.
The British Deaf Association (BDA) submitted written evidence and also had three BDA representatives appear in a Call for Evidence In-Person with the Committee for Communities on 1st May. You can watch the video of that session on YouTube using the following link: youtube.com/watch?v=W_GvcDbxL2U
