On Thursday 4 May 2017, the Scottish council elections are taking place and you will be asked to vote for councillors to represent you in your local area.
The Electoral Commission; the independent body which oversees elections in the UK, has produced an information booklet containing information on local councils as well as guidance on how to register and vote.
The Commission has also produced this booklet in BSL format (video above)
If you’re not already registered to vote, you need to register by midnight on Monday 17 April 2017 to vote in this election. It’s important that you register as early as possible in case your local electoral registration office needs to check any details with you.
For more information on the council elections, please go to the Electoral Commission’s website at www.electoralcommission.org.uk and if you would like to download a copy of the information booklet in PDF format or to view the BSL video on YouTube, please see the links in the Resources section below.
