Hello I am Lucy from the BDA Scotland. I have some information to inform you about.
There is an Open Day at TIDE on Saturday the 26th of January from 10am to 4.30pm. Tide is an organisation that supports people who are Carers of someone who has dementia. This would include if you have recently been a carer of somebody with dementia. As TIDE is UK wide it will provide an opportunity to network with other people who are also carers.
They are in process of trying to set up a programme to cover what carers needs are and you are invited along to discuss what you feel can be improved for carers. You can talk about what your experience has been, what you would like to see set up and how, how you can get involved and/or volunteer as well as seeing what else is out there on offer. This will take place in the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA), 350 Sauchiehall Street. Saturday 26th January from 10am to 4.30pm.
TIDE will provide food and travel expenses. In addition to this any carers who require an additional carer to replace them so that they are able to attend and meet with others you can contact TIDE to make arrangements. If you are interested in attending I will be there and I will also ensure that a BSL/ English interpreter has been provided.
Please let me know beforehand if you plan to attend. I am happy to attend with you and to access information together. I can also support you in getting involved and talking about your own experiences. Once you have looked into this further and decide that you would like to attend please just contact me at the Dementia Project – you will find the details on our website. https://bda.org.uk/dementia/
