Glasgow Deaf Trail - Trailer Glasgow City BDA Scotland secured funding from the Glasgow City Heritage Trust (GCHT) for two exciting projects exploring Glasgow’s cultural and historical identity within the Deaf community.

The first project saw BDA Scotland working in partnership with St Roch’s Secondary School to teach Deaf young people, in BSL, about the rich history of Glasgow. Delivered over 5 sessions, it was a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn about the heritage of their city and its beginnings.

The second project centred around two schools for the deaf; St Vincent’s, and Langside. Though both schools are now gone, the buildings remain an important part of the community’s heritage. This project gave people the opportunity to experience a virtual tour of the old sites, see what remained and share their memories.
