Dream Big & Taste Your Future – DRP Scotland

Hello everyone. I am Mitchell from Deaf Roots and Pride Scotland. I have a really exciting announcement about August. Do you want to know what it is? Have a look…

Did you see? Some of you may remember DRP set up various events, including Dream Big and Taste Your Future. However, this is going to be the first one in Scotland that we will have Dream Big and Taste your Future on at the same time, on the same day – 30th August 2019 in Falkirk, Farth Valley Sensory Centre. It will run from 10am – 2pm

The aim of the day is to split the event. Dream Big is aimed at young people , primary school aged 4-7. It is an opportunity for them to meet Deaf role models who will lead fun activities but the children will be learning at the same time. This may give them an idea of what they want to become in the future.

For example – here we have a scientist. She will conduct fun experiments with dry ice and washing up liquid to make exploding bubbles!! The children will be learning and having fun at the same time. Through this they may want to become scientists.

Now – taste your future. It is aimed at Secondary School years 1 - 6.

Deaf role models will lead workshops where they share their experience and their learning journey to their chosen careers. For example, this man is a professional photographer. He will talk about his interest in cameras, learning how they work, and then learning how to take photographs. From that, he decided to become a professional photographer.

As I said the two events will in parallel. It is a great opportunity for you to have a look at both Taste your future and Dream Big – they may inspire you!

If you are interested and you would like to come along, please contact us. I can then send you a booking form. Please contact us as soon as possible as spaces will fill up very quickly. I hope to see you there – it will be a really fun day.

Thank you for watching.
