Text transcript of BSL video:
Welcome to the BDA.
We would like to inform you of an upcoming event. This is an NHS Accessible Information Standards and Deaf Charter meeting that is being organised by Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Partnership NHS Trust. This will take place on Friday 12th February from 9.30 am to 4.00pm. It will be at Kingston Centre, Fairway, Stafford, ST16 3TW.
Throughout the day there will be communication support, BSL interpreters and speech to text. Lunch will be provided on the day.
The aim of this event is that Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Partnership NHS Trust want to talk to the local Deaf community and Deaf service users to find out their experiences and views when accessing their services to make sure they meet the NHS Accessible Information Standards and also the Deaf Charter.
Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Partnership NHS Trust want to talk to you and let you know about the Deaf Charter and how they have altered this slightly with the British Deaf Association (BDA). They have decided to sign this Deaf Charter at the event and talk to you about this too.
Assist will be looking at how they can support the local NHS services, look at any gaps and look at how to improve these services so it meets the NHS Accessible Information Standards and Deaf Charter. This is what will happen on the day.
