Today is the BDA’s AGM. The BDA was set up in 1890 to ensure a world in which the language, culture, community, diversity and heritage of Deaf people in the UK is respected and fully protected. As such the theme this weekend is to Protect, Preserve and Promote BSL.
Our new Board of Trustees were announced today and we received great presentations from Dr Kate Rowley and Catherine Drew about the future of Deaf education, Abigail Gorman about how the Accessible Information Standard impacts our health and finally from Avril Hepner and Sabina Iqbal about Social Care.
