BDA has exciting news to tell everyone! DRP, Deaf Roots and Pride has been recognised for the standard and quality of work it delivers and has been awarded the APS, Approved Providers Standard benchmark from NCVO, the National Council of Voluntary Organisations. APS is a National Quality Service that recognises Mentoring Projects.
APS had to assess Deaf Roots and Pride, through a 10 step rigorous process, which was very detailed. To gain this award we had to pass each of the 10 steps, which DRP did, this is an amazing feat.
We were able to pass each step because of the quality of the Mentor training that we have delivered. Each Mentor who successfully completed the training received certification for this, enabling my team of Mentor Officers and their Mentors to deliver a Mentor service at such a high standard and quality.
APS have officially recognised the standard and quality of the service and have said that we deserve the benchmark.
BDA are thrilled and excited with this news but we felt it is was important to give thanks to those staff, Mentors, young people and parents who participated in the assessment process. A big thanks to you all because without your involvement we could not have achieved this award, thank you.
