Hello! I'm Lucy.
If you remember, I was recently introduced to you all as the new Access and Inclusion (Dementia) Officer. Now, I'm doing my first video to you all.
I wanted to let you know that there are already some videos giving BSL access about dementia on The Alzheimer's Society's website. The clips can also be found here on the BDA website. You will need to type 'Dementia' and search for accessible formats - British Sign Language - where you'll be able to find the video clips. There are five factsheets which you can view and find out more about some of the different types of dementia.
These five clips are available on two different websites, the BDA's and the Alzheimer's Society. There's a third website - the Life Changes Trust - where you can find information about support, placements, and support groups.
If you are Deaf and have dementia, or are a Deaf carer, please do contact me. I can meet up with you, ask you some questions about your experiences, get your ideas about solutions, and more!
Do get in touch. My email address is dementia.scot@bda.org.uk
Thank you. Bye!
